Art Dubai Special Edition 2026: Agnes Questionmark

AWL Gallery announces its participation in Art Dubai Special Edition 2026 with a solo presentation by Agnes Questionmark. The presentation centers on enduring questions of embodiment, vulnerability, and resilience, explored through contemporary perspectives.

Questionmark, an internationally exhibited artist whose work has been featured at the 60th Venice Biennale and at the Frankfurter Kunstverein, examines the body and vulnerability through her three-channel video installation Opera Medica. The work reflects on processes of medicalization and the experience of the body as a site of observation, control, and scrutiny. Drawing from lived experience, the installation engages with power dynamics embedded within clinical frameworks, while seeking to reclaim agency over bodily autonomy and self-representation.

Developed through a collaborative performance with Gabriel Levy, Opera Medica also proposes a shared space of experimentation and identity formation, navigating the tension between imposed definitions and self-determined narratives.
